6-9-2020 ALERT!!!

The House Judiciary Committee will consider several gun bills on Wednesday, June 10th. This is what you need to do:

  • Find your Representative in the General Assembly by going here.
  • If your Representative is a member of the House Judiciary it is important that you call them, but everyone can call their representatives.
  • CALL your Representative (calling is more effective than emailing) and let them know you are a constituent of them and ask them to vote against H7102A, H7103B, and S2154A since these bills are poorly worded and can have un-intended consequences.

  • 3-11-2020 ALERT!!!

Rally at the State House on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020! It's best to park at either the Providence Place Mall or at one of the Department of Health's parking lots if you arrive after 5pm.
The House Judiciary Committee will hold hearings on the entire package of 2020 anti-gun bills on Wednesday March 11th. There will be signup sheets where you can mark your position on the bills as well as identify if you are testifying or not. There will probably be a time limit so please testify only on the bills that are being heard and stay on topic. You will also have the opportunity to submit a written testimony if you choose not to testify. This year’s bills are some of the worst ever in attempting to infringe upon your Second Amendment rights. Here’s just some of what these bills would do:

  • Ban new "assault weapons" and require existing "assault weapons" to be registered (House Bill 7263).

  • Ban the sale and possession of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds (House Bill 7264).

  • Increases the age from eighteen to twenty-one years for lawful possession, sale, or transfer of firearms or ammunition. (House Bill 7327.

  • Ban the possession of firearms on school grounds even by law-abiding citizens and concealed carry permit holders (House Bill 7715).

  • Outlaw the presence of rifles and shotguns in vehicles, visible or concealed (House Bill 7716).

  • Requires person selling firearm to require purchaser execute a medical release form for release of medical records relating to addiction to controlled substance, alcoholism and/or mental health illness for a period of 5 years preceding application. (House Bill 7928).

  • WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO:
SPEAK UP! SHOW UP WEDNESDAY! Contact the House Judiciary Committee using the form below and via the NRA
We’ll be there as early as 3pm and expect to be there until AFTER MIDNIGHT. You can show up whenever time permits BUT PLEASE SHOW UP. We need to fill the Statehouse. Don't let a few dozen of Bloomberg's gun control activists take your rights away! Let's dwarf last year's turnout! Wear your yellow shirts and buttons!
    SPREAD THE WORD!
