We all knew this legislative session was going to be a tough one, and that many bad bills were going to be introduced but looking as we are going through the bills that were introduced this week, they really out did themselves. The Moms Demand action and RICAGV groups are already doing a victory dance, claiming they have enough votes to get these bills passed. For those of you who think this does not affect you and you are protected by the 2nd Amendment….you are wrong. We are being attacked on the State and Federal level. The newly proposed legislation affects EVERY SINGLE GUN OWNER! The “Mag ban” is a TOTAL GUN BAN by the definitions listed in the language since it includes magazines with a removable floorplate. We need to unite; we need to fight back! We bet this will affect E V E R Y S I N G L E gun owner in the state as well as every business involved with firearms. They even want a medical release to buy a gun. We expected there would be some bad bills this session, but they really used their imagination this year and outdid themselves… Rhode Island gun control advocates are bragging that this year they have the votes to pass laws essentially eliminating CCWs, severely limiting magazine capacity, and banning AR-type rifles and restricting where you can carry guns. Unless we unite to stop them. There are more legal firearms owners in the state than there are anti-firearms activists. Politicians want to get reelected. We can impress them with our voting muscle with a petition containing tens of thousands of names. Your name will not be made public. Dear Legislators, Year after year countless hours are wasted on dismantling the 2nd Amendment under the guise of "Common Sense" based on twisted information from special interest groups. These bills are motivated by a progressive agenda and blatantly focused on stripping law abiding citizens of their rights and property and weakening the foundation of our Country. Firearm owners are portrayed as the enemy, treated as criminals, and told they are the minority, when in fact we are a valuable resource. We are families, single moms and dads, business owners, hard workers, veterans, young and old, all diversities and ethnicities. The 2nd Amendment does not discriminate. We are stewards of the environment, and a significant part of the local economy. We ask that you come to the table to address the real problems: existing laws not being enforced; plea bargains; and early release of criminals who used firearms in the commission of a crime. We the people, law abiding citizens of the State Of Rhode Island have been victimized by the rhetoric long enough and we want our voices heard. We strongly oppose all new gun legislation that will restrict law abiding gun owners from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.
